TREMOSINE CLIFF

Beautiful and complicated face, between Pieve di Tremosine and Salto delle Streghe, north of the old tunnel.

Corbelli-Gessi route

There is just one route opened by Renato Corbelli and Paolo Gessi in 1980.

Length: 200 meters; max.level IV and one sequence A0.

From the “Terrace” in the centre of Tremosine, descent through Porto route, pass the base of the Tremosine turret and continue descending. Leave the trail and go on the right by a crumbling ledge; continue on it for 100 meters (I, II). When the face is more stable, leave the ledge and climb directly (IV and one sequence A0) for 200 meters, more or less up to the Belvedere Hotel; from where you return to Tremosine.

TREMOSINE TURRET

Small and elegant rock-pinnacle below Pieve, looking towards Campione. It has a vertical eastern slope and a big chimney-crack towards the main limy-ledge. It is known that a three pitches route was put up by some Germans in 90s, level VI.

From Pieve you descent in Porto route, turn on the right through a trail in the woods that reaches the base of the chimney.
